Since January, 2007 there have been several architectural review requests made and approved. They are:
Installation of hurricane protection shutters.
Installation of awning over garage side door.
Installation of composite or metal roofs over lanai.
Metal tile roof replacement over a house.
Repainting houses.
Enclosing lanai with acrylic panels and sliders.
Installation of satellite dish.
Yard configuration and landscaping.
Installation of a screen enclosed in-ground spa.
Driveway widening.
The Board appreciates the residents' co-operation for seeking approval before starting their projects.
Insurance Report All policies for Seminole Lakes Property Owners Association were reviewed and renewed for 2007-2008 with no significant changes. The Insurance Committee will be trying to find a market for wind insurance which Seminole Lakes POA property needs, but was not available after Hurricane Charley. At this time we have no wind insurance coverage.
Sweetbay Lighting Complaints After many complaints from Seminole Lakes residents, regarding "glare" from the Sweetbay parking lot lights, Rudco, Inc., the developer, installed shields on three lights. This appears to have corrected the problem.
However, the developer, Rudco, Inc., has now completed a new commercial building at the Sweetbay Plaza that is located adjacent to the Seminole Lakes community. The developer has recently installed lights on the back of the new building as well as in the rear parking area near the wall. Again, this has created complaints by our residents.
The Board is continuing to work with the developer to correct the problem.
