PRESIDENT’S REPORT
APRIL 10, 2006
The meeting is now called to order at 10am. We have a quorum with all 5 directors in attendance. The meeting was properly noticed on the Web page and bulletin boards.
For those who may not know the new directors; they are Linda Huber, Sandy Blaesing, Bob Foiles, Al DiSessa and I am Bob Toth. Sherry Danko will be our association manager. Welcome to the new board.
The board has moved the meeting location back to the church after getting numerous negative comments from many residents about our prior meeting location, the poor speaker system, lack of microphones, being dirty, and the unpleasant smoke smell.
The procedures for the board meeting will continue to allow residents to comment on agenda subjects. When a motion is made, seconded and before voting; the directors will discuss the motion. Then before the board votes, residents can make comments on that motion. To make comments on the motion, you will have to use the floor microphone and give your name. Comments are limited to 3 minutes.
We will not recognize anyone that does not come to the microphone, mainly because it is difficult to hear the comments. Some motions will be of the consent type, not requiring discussion by the board. In those cases comments will not be requested.
Near the end of the meeting, residents can comment on other subjects for future consideration by the board.
The restaurant is closing for the season at the end of April. The golf course will remain open. The developers are not interested in leasing or selling the pool to the POA. There is a group interested in purchasing the golf course, clubhouse and swimming pool. The board will keep you posted on any new developments.
Later on in the meeting, I will be showing some maps of our drainage system and addressing the need to do some repairs on the headwalls. This will be before the Lakes & Roads committee presentation.

SweetBay Plaza Report
Bob Toth and Al DiSessa attended the City Planning Commission meeting at City Hall on March 27, 2006. The developers, Rudco Properties have returned to the City with changes to subdivide the vacant property into a number of building lots. The Planning Commission approved the plans, and it has to go to City Council for final approval. Even with this approval, it may be difficult to proceed with building without some major changes required by the City.
Bob Toth addressed the Planning Commission and expressed the POA concerns
that the expanded plaza might affect Seminole Lakes in a number of negative
ways, such as bright lights and noise disturbing residents that live nearby,
additional water draining into Lake A would cause pollution and flooding of the
streets. The POA needs to be a part of the process to ensure our concerns
are considered.
The developer stated that they have an easement that would extend the connector
road south and be connected to the Seminole Lakes entrance. Prior review
of the deed and documents by the POA makes it difficult to determine where the
easement is. The board will stay on top of the proposed development and
attempt to avoid any negative impact on Seminole Lakes.
