PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Board Meeting
February 8, 2010
Thank you for attending. If you review the agenda, you will see there is a great amount of business for the board to conduct today. As usual, before any motion is voted on, any resident wanting to comment or ask a question can do this. We do this as a courtesy, and there is no requirement in the Florida Statutes or governing documents that mandates this. At the end of the meeting, there is time allowed for residents to make comments for future consideration.
In reviewing the candidate’s resumes, I was surprised how many never mentioned the priority of the board. That priority is maintaining and improving the common areas. At a recent seminar that two directors and I attended, this priority was reinforced by a number of the speakers. It’s nice to have a great web site, newsletter, and email site, and our communications are excellent, but they are not the priority.
There are four projects on today’s agenda. All are geared to maintaining our common elements. It takes a great effort by the board, landscape and maintenance committees to constantly survey our common elements and take steps when required to do repairs and improvements. I know that most of the residents appreciate this.
