POOL RENTAL FUNDING

At our last Board of Directors meeting, the board voted in favor of leasing the pool and related amenities for 6 months commencing August 1st as a cost of $4000 plus tax.

Five of those six months (Aug-Dec) are in 2006 and needs to be funded out of our current operating budget.

This computes to $21,400 and I’m proposing we fund this leased amenity in the following manner:

I propose to TAKE:

$12,000 in budget dollars from A/C 445 Contingency …

$ 4,000 in budget dollars from A/C 436 Common Area Maintenance …

$ 5,400 in budget dollars from A/C 496 Entry Payroll, Tax, and Fees.

I propose to GIVE:

(1) $21,400 in Budget Dollars to A/C 511 Pool Rental.

Contrary to the erroneous opinion in some circles within our community, it is important to note that none of these budget transfers touches or affects the Reserve Fund or future reserve funding contributions in place since the adoption of the revised budget May 1st.

Furthermore, I would encourage everyone to not believe everything that is written in The Grapevine. Personally, I don’t feel our homeowners believe every written word. We’re smarter than that. But, I do think they are entitled to read the truth and, in this case, that truth can only be effectively communicated to them by the person vested with that responsibility.

It is fair to ask questions, however, it is unfair to, in one breath, ask a question and in the next breath answer it erroneously, have it published, and with absolutely zero research work or fact finding with people who know better. It’s like writing a book in a closet with no light turned on. It’s perhaps the exact place that kind of book should be read in the first place.

Let me close the vent now. I would like to make the motion that the budget transfers itemized above be approved by a vote of the board. I’ll need a second to this motion.
