Maintenance Committee Report - November
Front Sign:. To replace the letters can be very costly. I had a company called Signtek come and give us a price. They have not sent me their proposal yet, but the man that came said that it would be in the neighborhood of $5000. I checked the internet there is a company that we can buy the letters from and install them ourselves for about $25 per letter. We need 48 letters if we want the sign to read the same. That would be about $1200 for the letters then we would need some adhesive. One way to save on this would to eliminate 22 letters, "country Club". We do not have a country club.
This past Saturday Bob Toth & I scrubbed the sign wall & letters in preparation for painting. Joe Ring & I have repaired the letters but this is just a band-aid. The letters will have to be replaced and I recommend that the board place it in the next budget.
This afternoon several men will paint the wall. I bought the paint on Saturday. Al I gave the receipt to Bob. Tomorrow we need around 4 to 6 steady handed artists to paint the letters on the sign. We have the blue paint. The artists can be some of our ladies. With a show of hands who wants to volunteer?
Red Tag program: Joe Gartner has been doing a great job placing red tags on lampposts that are not lit. Please replace light bulbs when you see a red tag on your lamppost. As residents return they are correcting problems with their lampposts.
Storage shed: The price for the storage shed that we rent is going up as of Jan 1st to $1500 a year. I suggest that we buy a storage shed and put it in the area to the right of our front entrance where it will not be scene. Presently we store Christmas lights & decorations, entertainment committee props, the tents used for various activities, and a PA system. Joe Ring & I priced an 8’ X10’ shed that would cost $1875 installed plus whatever a permit would cost. This shed meets hurricane standards.
