LAKES AND ROADS MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE REPORT
DECEMBER, 2009 AND JANUARY, 2010
Over the holidays your committee kept up with the day to day issues, but did not tackle any large ones. We do now have our newly formed team in place, consisting of Jack Carpenter, Jack Dawes, George Desrosiers, Gordon Gade, Jay Huber, Stan Kubik, Ray Negrycz, and Bud Nelson. Joe Ring, Fred Eyrich and other residents have also been extremely helpful and have done significant work on their own. We continue to work diligently to keep our community attractive……if you can help, just let any team member know. The pay isn’t so good, but the fun and satisfaction of real accomplishments are great!
Over the past couple months:
·
Weeds and grass in all curbs and gutters, around the front entrance pump area, inside and outside the back gate and at the front entrance continue to be sprayed at a minimum of once per month, even in this slow growing time.·
Bud Nelson has taken over the lamp post monitoring program and insures that our community stays well lighted at night. We want to thank everyone for cooperating when they see the red tag hanging from their lamp post.·
Lighting at the front entrance has been cleaned, repaired, and in several cases, ballasts replaced. Several electrical problems in the front entrance area have been corrected.·
We are addressing a severe wash-out on the edge of lake G, near the cart path. Contractors have been contacted and proposals received, as this project is too large for our committee to tackle. Proposals will be presented separate from this report.·
We are also addressing a pavement problem near the guard house where organic material is growing through the pavement. This also is a large project requiring the removal of paving and it’s replacement. We have also received proposals for this work. These will be presented separately.·
We have received a proposal for sealcoating of all streets, along with necessary minor repair, repainting of crossings and replacement of reflectors. This will be presented to the board in the near future. The following projects are planned for the near future:
·
Removal and repair of cracked and broken stucco on the front entrance wall, followed by repainting of the entire wall and letters.·
Repair and repainting of cracks in the guard house walls·
Repainting of the back gate·
Cleaning of the deck, walls and roof of the tiki hut and pool.·
Clean-out of brush and repair of the boundary fence just inside the front entrance.·
Despite many man hours of searching with a metal detector, we still have not located several boundary markers. We will continue to search.·
And, the list continues to grow. I invite everyone to contact me if you see maintenance concerns.....and if you would like to serve on a fun committee.Respectfully submitted
B
