GAYLE & LINDA MORRIS SELECTED FOR MVP – JUNE 2007
"Gayle is a neighbor who is always ready to serve! We have been blessed to watch Gayle on a daily basis. He is knowledgeable and willing to help anyone that is in need. Example: our lamp post fell over from the wind. Next day, Gayle is offering his helping hand. Mixing and pouring concrete, cutting boards, patching the holes and on and on. It doesn’t matter who, what, why or where, Gayle is always ready to serve. On a larger basis, he is serving our whole community by participating in Christmas decorations, setting up tents for the Arts and many other activities not listed. He always has a smile and kind word for everyone."
"Gayle and Linda go the "second mile" in helping with our creative Arts events. They create the publicity, the "Burma shave" type signs to remind residents, they’ve created the design for our official stationery and do a yeoman’s job in setting up and transporting."
"Gayle and Linda’s efforts in organizing the SLCC Relay for Life brings prestige and honor to our community. They and the team members have earned thousands of dollars for the AMR Cancer Society and this year have won 3rd place with their silent film tent display."
"Linda Morris was instrumental in the design and installation of the Holiday Decorations at our front entrance. Although she was assisted by the Creative Arts Committee, it was her planning that made the project possible. The design of the decorations has never been better and she deserves resident recognition for her efforts"
