Landscape Report for April 10th POA meeting.

The following are members of the Landscape Committee: Bob Blaesing, Carol Dayton, Jim Fletcher, Ed Kineke, Carol Lawson, and other helpers Linda and Gayle Morris.

We are looking forward to approval for filling in the vacant spaces left by "Charlie" at our front entrance, having the palms in the center islands and on the south side of the entrance trimmed, and mulching areas with red mulch. The plants will be planted by the Landscape Committee members and other helpers. If you would like to volunteer, please call me at 575-1432.

Lawns:

We noticed several lawns that had some brown spots during our last drive-thru. If is very important that the lawns are watered two times per week. The pop ups should be on for at least 20 to 25 minutes and the rotating heads be on for at least 40 to 45 minutes. We still find several of the irrigation systems turned off. If you do not water as recommended and your grass dies, you the home owner are responsible for replacing your grass. If you feel you are having a problem, write an AVO and take it to the guard house. Make sure you put your address, name and phone number on the AVO.

Another problem is Carpet Grass that is taking over several lawns. The only way to kill this is to spray with round-up and then re-sod. Greenscapes is not responsible for replacing the sod where Carpet Grass has invaded. It is now turning brown and will start to multiply very fast during the summer months. If you have any questions, send an AVO or come to the Greenscapes meeting on the back porch of the restaurant on Wednesday Morning from 8 to 9AM.

This is a reminder to those home owners returning to their Northern homes. EVERYTHING GROWS VERY FAST DURING THE SUMMER, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOMEONE TAKING CARE OF YOUR FLOWER BEDS AND WEEDS IN THE DRIVE WAY.

We hope to have Greenscapes do a presentation at one of our next meetings.
