Landscape committee report Board meeting December 14, 2009
Last week we had our annual clean-up party. Ten (10) volunteers assisted trimming, sawing and cutting and clean overgrown shrubbery and trees alongside the pool and tennis courts. It took 5 hours to do the work and 60 bags of red mulch were spread in different areas. The area on the right side of the parking lot entrance was also beautified and Vic Poitras and I donated and planted plants. Vic also spread some rocks to make a border. No association funds were spent as Jack Stephenson donated money to purchase mulch and plants; however as the plants were donated, we used all the money to purchase mulch.
Last week Greenscapes was contracted to purchase and plant 120 geraniums in the first median strip as you exit the community. The plants are small will grow to a very beautiful sight. The cost was $390 and this came from the landscape improvements budget.
We also planted some plants on developer property that runs along Stillwater Circle. A special thanks to Paul Devon for donating the plants.
The schedule for Greenscapes to fertilize the lawns has changed to next week, due to a shortage of the special blend ordered. I would like to remind everyone that the fertilizer will not be effective if not watered. Please ensure you have your sprinklers set to water once per week.
Thank You
