INSURANCE COMMITTEE REPORT
MAY 8, 2006
1.Introduced myself and Howie McCormack as the two man partner team constituting the insurance committee formed approximately three weeks ago.
2. Pointed out that we do not unilaterally make decisions, but investigate and recommend to the board our findings, specifically to Treasurer Al DiSessa. The board makes the decision{s].
3. Our primary and immediate concern is the non-renewal notice effective 7/7/06 from Auto Owners Ins. Co. thru the Amberg Insurance Agency and finding a suitable replacement. The market place is very tight and getting tighter as we approach the hurricane season.
4. Met with Mrs. Patti Boger of Amberg Agency for two hours on 5/4/06, delivering to her a set of our specifications for much of our insurance program. Further dialogue will continue.
5. Advised our residents that Sherry Danko of Star Mgt. was also seeking other markets thru other agents she deals with on other properties her firm manages.
Advised residents that Howie and have approached three other agents on our own, being declined by two, with the third one very iffy.
6. Discussed golf cart liability limitations in most homeowner’s policy and suggested each resident contact their homeowner’s insurance carrier to determine their coverage. Reminded residents that the previous board put out a set of regulations/requirements regarding use of the golf cart.
7. Received no questions from the floor.
