ELECTION COMMITTEE DESCRIPTION
Our Election Committee consists of 16 members (3 are used as substitutes) including a Chairperson and Co-Chairman.
The Election Committee has several purposes. The Co- Chairman and 5 committee members are responsible for encouraging potential candidates to serve on the Board of Directors, and having a Candidates Forum in February. The Committee is responsible for registering members on all necessary voting such as; elections and amendments, and counting the ballots.
Elections are held annually at the Annual Meeting in March.
Early December – A meeting is held with Star Hospitality Management Co. along with Chairperson and Co-Chairman of Election Committee.
We review election procedures along with voting letters to be sent to residents.
February – A Candidates Forum is held prior to the Board Meeting.
Day of Election at the Annual Meeting
Four committee members receive and record ballots.
After ballots are all recorded and nominations from floor are complete, twelve committee members convene to count ballots in a separate room while the annual meeting is being held. The Chairperson and Management Company oversee all operations. They are recorded, and the results are given at the Annual Meeting.
