CERT REPORT for POA Meeting

6-12-06

The taping program for CERT’s hurricane response (with red tape for priority and yellow for those residents indicating they will be here during the hurricane season) has been successfully completed.

CERT’s hopes that all residents have taken advantage of the tax free opportunity to purchase hurricane supplies.

A Safety Tip regarding proper usage of portable electric generators was included in the last issue of The Grapevine. Be sure to read it and save for future references.

Now is the time for all residents to plan what they will do for a threatened hurricane. Keep tuned to the radio and television and seriously consider evacuating if recommended. Pre-plan your evacuation route, looking for alternative routes (other than I-75 and Route 41 as these will be heavily traveled and may not be the best routes). You can dial 5-1-1 on your phones to check for traffic conditions. For those residents with pets, there are a number of motel chains that accept pets. Check them out now. If any single resident households were considering staying, it would be a good idea to ride out the storm with a close friend or neighbor.

A sign will be posted at the main exit gate to remind those who are evacuating to notify the Security Guard.  Please comply
as this will permit the CERT a quicker response when checking those residents who are remaining

I wish everyone good luck and ask that they consider what I stated seriously.
