Activity Committee Report
On behalf of the Activity Committee I want to thank George and Babe Desrosiers for donating a new and large Barbeque grill for our use at the pool.
A second note of thanks to Paul White who put new table covers on the large tables that we use to serve food on at our parties, he even put protective carpet tacks on the ends so they would not get damaged.
We have had a scorching hot summer with a lot of thunder showers, but we continue to have a good turnout for our weekly bingo on Wednesdays, note weekly. Everyone is invited at 4:00 PM at the pool. Marlene White’s two grandchildren each won a game at one of our Bingo days.
Our July 4th Bloody Mary / Sloppy Joe party was well attended.
Our July Pot Luck had over 30 people in attendance.
Our Charlie / Splash party got cut short due to a heavy rain storm, but the food didn’t go to waste. Leftovers were brought to the Vets in Punta Gorda.
We had a Labor Day party, Monday Sept. 7th at the pool, with fried chicken and side dishes for $6.00 per person. We had 57 residents in attendance. A great time was had by all. Again the leftovers were brought to the Vets in Punta Gorda thanks to Bill and Vicki Murphy.
In addition, the Activity Committee completed the final payments for the chairs that we now use at the pool. My thanks to the residents and my committee for their help.
