Activity Committee Description

The Activity Committee plans, organizes, and hosts social and recreational functions to generate a friendly atmosphere and a true sense of community among the residents of Seminole Lakes. Among the activities sponsored by the committee are New Years Day, St Patrick’s Day, Pool and Tiki Hut events. Some events may be held outside the community such as bus trips to ball games, and dinner and dance parties.

As these are social functions, no political activity including circulating petitions, campaigning, and similar activities will be allowed at any event. Any individual or group engaging in such activity will immediately be asked to cease the activity or leave the function.

All functions sponsored by the committee will be available to all Seminole Lakes residents on an equal basis and at equal cost regardless of the venue.

Sponsored events can be advertised via the POA email system, Newsletter, Web Site and utilization of tube flyers.

All events will be programmed to ensure proper set-up and clean up.

The committee will develop a yearly budget and will utilize the POA financial services and bank. The yearly budget will become part of the POA budget when approved by the board.

All scheduled events must be pre-approved by the director overseer to avoid conflicts with other events. Functions held in the pool area require advance reservations.

The Chairperson will maintain a list of committee members and hold periodic committee meetings. New committee members’ names will be added to the position description as changes take place.

The Chairperson of the committee will provide timely activity reports at board meetings and via the newsletter.
